Chad Hartle
Robert Chadwick “Chad” Hartle first became a general contractor in 1992 when he started building affordable housing developments. In 2003 he and Patrick Werner co-founded Double Diamond Construction. Since its inception Double Diamond has completed construction jobs totaling over $150,000,000. As a result of its founder’s broad background in the industry, the company’s primary focus is on the construction of affordable housing. Double Diamond not only performs general contracting but also provides ‘value-added services’ to affordable housing developers through the decades of experience its upper management team brings to the table. In addition to affordable housing, it also builds market-rate apartments, commercial buildings, single-family homes and performs adaptive re-use of historic buildings.
Chad is also President of RCH Development, INC., and has been a developer of affordable housing since 1990. Utilizing state and federal tax credits to develop affordable housing, he has been the recipient of more than 49 tax credit awards. Chad has extensive experience with a multitude of governmental agencies including the Missouri Housing Development Commission, USDA Rural Development, Illinois Housing Development Authority, and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Non-profit partners include the Jackson Senior Citizens Center, Crider Health Care, SADI, Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri (previously Community Caring Council), Community Counseling Center, and East Missouri Action Agency.
Chad has extensive business experience in other areas that include new business start-ups as well as mergers and acquisitions over a wide variety of industries including banking, management, insurance, propane distribution, and energy consulting. Some examples are:
- One of the founders (1997) and Chairman (2007 to present) of Alliance Bank of Cape Girardeau which has over $260,000,000 of assets and locations in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Sikeston, and Oran Missouri.
- The startup of an independent insurance agent in the 1980’s that, through mergers and acquisitions, cumulated into a merger with the Sunstar Insurance Group that is the 56th largest independent insurance agency in the United States. Chad has been a member of the board of directors of the Sunstar Group since the merger in 2015 and also maintains an ownership stake in other local insurance agencies.
- Chad also co-founded and is a partner of Triple J Mechanical that owns a chain of 7 NAPA Auto Parts Stores in Savannah, Statesboro, Pembroke, and Brunswick Georgia. Triple J Mechanical has annual revenues in excess of $10,000,000 per year.
Chad graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He became a Real Estate Salesperson in 1975, Insurance Agent in 1980, Insurance Broker in 1989, and Real Estate Broker in 1993.
Chad married Geneva (Sides) in 1982 and has 3 children, Jacie Tietz, Lindsey Ventura, and Robert C. Hartle II. He is a resident of Jackson, MO. where he is active in civic organizations and is a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church.
